A message from Dr. O about what is new at iSmiles
Over the past year, there have been a lot of positive changes at iSmiles Orthodontics, all of which have been thoughtfully designed and implemented to provide the best possible orthodontic treatment for our patients.
My partner, Dr. Wil Saavedra, and I have been working together for over 15 years, running a successful, full-service specialized orthodontic practice in Phoenix, AZ called E&S Orthodontics with three popular locations in the Phoenix Metro area. When we decided to purchase iSmiles Orthodontics from Dr. Brandon, it was an exciting move. Dr. Brandon has a family relationship with Dr. Saavedra so we already knew a lot about iSmiles and the beautiful Irvine community.
Although there have been a few bumps along the way, the iSmiles team has been working hard to implement these changes. Our beautiful, newly renovated office is just the beginning.
There are a number of other enhancements we know you will appreciate, including:

iSmiles welcomes the addition of Damon Braces
In our last newsletter, we featured an in-depth article on the benefits The Damon System® and Damon®Clear braces offer. Since then, many of you have asked why we are so keen on this approach.
The Damon System is so much more than a revolution in brackets and wires. It's a whole new way of treating patients. As firm believers in face-driven orthodontics with a non-extraction approach we have found the Damon System is a perfect iSmiles fit as an alternative to conventional treatment that typically requires the extraction of healthy teeth. Traditional brackets are often uncomfortable, treatment is usually longer, and can also leave a flat profile and a narrow arch.
Damon smiles are full, natural 10-tooth smiles that are specifically designed to improve the patient's facial profile.
The Damon System offers clinically-proven results that are consistently excellent. The brackets are discreet, comfortable and easy to clean. The passive, self-ligating system uses a slide technology that moves naturally with the teeth as they realign. Patients also see faster results (up to 7 months earlier compared to traditional braces) and fewer follow-up appointments. Finally, most dental insurance plans and FSA’s can be allocated to treatment with Damon braces.
Many orthodontists do not offer the Damon System because they must complete special training as part of the certification process. Our doctors have years of experience in this truly innovative approach.

Dr. Siddiqi is thrilled to return to Irvine as a member of the iSmiles team
When Dr. Ammar Siddiqi walked through the iSmiles front door for the first time, it didn’t take long for the Southern California native to realize it was great to be back home. He definitely hit all the hot buttons Dr. O was searching for. . .what we call the EIEIO effect.
Enthusiasm. Intelligence. Experience. Integrity. Organization
Dr. Siddiqi, like Dr. O, believes every patient deserves the highest standard in orthodontic treatment and care. He is passionate, excited and energized about iSmiles and what this revitalized practice offers its patients.
His education and experience are equally as impressive. He graduated cum laude with anthropology honors from UCI, earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the USC’s Herman Ostrow’s School of Dentistry, and Orthodontic Specialty degree and MBA at Roseman University of Health Sciences (where he served as a resident orthodontist at the Roseman Orthodontic Clinic). Additionally, he earned a Deans Award for Excellence in Research.
He plans to follow the iSmiles commitment to on-going education and community involvement. In years past, he has volunteered at Give Kids A Smile, the USC Dental Humanitarian Club and USC Mobile Clinic.
Outside the office, you’ll find Dr. Siddiqi is an avid sports lover, especially jet skiing, baseball and the LA Lakers, loves traveling and trying different cuisines, and spends a lot of time with family and friends.
As much as Dr. Siddiqi is glad to be home, iSmiles is also thrilled he has made the move back to Irvine to join our team!

At last! The iSmiles team did a happy dance the day our office renovations were finally finished! We want to sincerely thank you for your patience and consideration while the work was being completed and hope you are enjoying our modernized treatment areas, front desk and waiting room – all designed to make you feel comfortable in a clean and welcoming environment.
We feel very fortunate that the construction was completed in a way we could remain open and continue to serve our patients, with no disruptions to their treatment plans.

BRACES FRIENDLY RECIPE
Smoothies continue to be the rage for their health benefits, especially when they feature strawberries! This tasty version, a 5-Star "Community Pick" on the Genius Kitchen website, is soooo quick and easy to make. Here's what you need:
1 cup frozen
strawberries
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 banana
8 - 10 ice cubes
Simply put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
